JESSE GRANT, AIA | PRINCIPAL

Jesse Grant started working for GLAS Architects in 2007 as a graduate student during a summer break between terms.  The elevated importance and complexity of working on projects with public funding was immediately attractive and introduced more sense of purpose into the process.  He was hooked from the beginning and, apart from a brief hiatus from 2014-2017, has been with GLAS since that summer.  Jesse worked diligently towards licensure, which he achieved in 2011 and continues to enjoy learning about new topics.  Jesse was certified as an Oregon Department of Education Assessor in 2020 and earned his credentials with IIBEC as a Registered Roofing Consultant in 2022.  His particular interests within the field of architecture have evolved towards the building enclosure for new, but also existing buildings with challenging and a-typical problems to solve.

Jesse grew up in the high desert and, even though he has learned to appreciate the rain of the Willamette Valley, still craves the wide-open canvas of the high desert.  When not skiing with his family, riding the amazing logging roads of the area on his bike, or traveling abroad, Jesse can be found with his two boys on a mountain soaking in the vast open spaces of the Great Basin.  Jesse has also taken a keen interest in supporting O’Hara Catholic School where his children attend, having served on their School Advisory Committee Since 2016.  His relationship with O’Hara has grown to become truly symbiotic and he hopes that his involvement has brought the school as much benefit as he has personally received from them.
