Trace A. Ward, AIA | Principal
Mr. Ward has been involved in numerous educational projects since joining our predecessor firm in 1988. His experience includes a number of projects at Oregon State University. He has also served as LEED coordinator for Oregon Coast Community College and Kendall Toyota. Those projects received LEED Silver Certification and LEED Platinum Certification respectively.
Christopher L. Walkup, Assoc. AIA | Principal
Mr. Walkup brings extensive experience in assessment, design, contract administration, and construction observation on a number of large projects. Recently, Chris managed Waldport High School, a new school for Lincoln County School District, through the design and construction phases, while playing an important role in completing the project on time and under budget. He also recently completed design work on Marist High School, an existing facility that will undergo numerous phased remodel projects and a new science wing addition that will bring the facility in line with the school’s academic and facility goals. Chris' other recent projects include the Norther Operations Center for Central Lincoln PUD, NOAA Marine Operations Center, Oregon Coast Community College, and Toledo Elementary School.
Jesse R. Grant, AIA | Principal
With over six years of previous tenure with GLAS Architects, Jesse Grant has recently rejoined the firm; he brings with him nine years of experience in architectural design and project management. He has worked with numerous educational clients ranging from early childhood through higher education. Jesse values the modernization of an existing building as much as a new-build as dictated by the context of the project and the client’s needs. Current work includes Oak Grove Elementary School in Albany, Oregon.
Walter R. Gresl, AIA | Senior Associate
Mr. Gresl originally joined the firm in 1983. He left the firm in 1988 to work for the City of Eugene Building Permits Section, where he served originally as a code analyst and then as the Building Official for the City. He returned in 1993 to continue the practice of Architecture. Mr. Gresl has 34 years of experience in structural design, building codes consulting, architectural design, and project management. His focus has been primarily educational projects over the past 20 years.
James M. Lewis, AIA | Senior Associate
Mr. Lewis joined our original firm in 1973 and has played a key role in the design and management of many of the firm’s major projects. His experience includes many projects with demanding technical, budgetary and scheduling requirements. He has an extensive range of experience in various project types which normally includes involvement from initial programming and space planning through construction administration services.
Belinda Dodd | Design Staff
Belinda Dodd has over 20 years of experience in design and construction and has worked with GLAS Architects for eight years. Recent educational work includes Irving Elementary School Gym and Classroom Additions, South Albany High School Cafeteria Replacement, and Marist Catholic High School Additions and Modifications. Other recent projects include the Newport Operations Center and Orchard Crossing Apartments.
Heather Meyer | Design Staff
Heather Meyer joined the team in 2015 after receiving her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon. She has a strong background in graphic design and digital modeling. During her time at GLAS Architects, Heather has gained experience working on a wide range of building types, including K-12 schools, student housing, retail spaces, operation centers and administration buildings. Identifying the unique aspects of each project, Heather’s focus is on contextualized site-specific, client specific designs. Current projects include modifications and additions to Sweet Home Junior High School.
Ted Corbin | Design Staff
Ted Corbin has over 20 years of experience in A/E/C and joined GLAS Architects in 2018. He holds architecture degrees from the University of Utah and University of Oregon. His architectural experience includes Class-A office buildings, commercial manufacturing/ distribution facilities, and commercial renovations and remodels. Ted’s professional experience also includes five years for a CM/GC general contractor and being an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional A/E/C Services. His current work is Lowell High School, Lundy Elementary School, and Harrisburg School District.
Mario Jovani Alfonso | Design Staff
Mario Alfonso joined GLAS Architects in 2018. He received his Master of Architecture from Florida International University in 2012 and has over five years of experience in commercial, retail, and high-end residential design. His current work includes new and renovated educational facilities, such as Crow Middle/ High School, Lowell High School, Lundy Elementary School, and Oak Grove Elementary School.
