KENDALL TOYOTA

KENDALL AUTOGROUP | LEED Platinum®

Eugene, Oregon

Increasing the building area from 21,000 to over 58,000 square feet, the Kendall Toyota project involved an extensive remodel and addition to the existing facility. The project was LEED certified to the Platinum level, which is the highest level of certification offered and very difficult to achieve. Sustainable features include 1,100 photovoltaic solar panels for onsite energy generation and a rainwater collection system which provides water for irrigation and car wash functions. All stormwater is treated and retained onsite, and an energy-conserving heat recovering system is used for service bay ventilation. The following additional features were also incorporated into the design:
- Skylights for natural illumination of interior spaces
- High-efficiency lighting throughout
- Occupant control of HVAC and lighting
- Waterless urinals and low flush toilets
- Concrete floor slabs with reclaimed material content
- Recycled content in floor finishes and aluminum panel siding
- Low odor, low VOC interior paint throughout
